As Cadillac prepares to join F1 in 2026, Crawford acknowledges he would consider a race seat with them if no opportunities arise at Aston Martin. Currently the highest-ranked American driver in Formula 2, Crawford's position makes him a potential candidate for Cadillac, who previously expressed interest in featuring American drivers.
"Obviously at the moment I'm with Aston Martin and the plan is to be with them and learn and develop," Crawford stated. "Of course if any race seat came up I would love to have one. Honestly, it's my dream, so in any scenario like that then I would have to consider it."
Following his recent Abu Dhabi post-season test debut, Crawford expressed confidence in his F1 potential, citing his comfort in the car and the successful transitions of other F2 drivers to Formula 1. His performance during the test session reinforced his belief that he can compete at the highest level.
While focused on his F2 campaign for next year, Crawford remains open to opportunities, acknowledging potential competition from IndyCar drivers who might also be considered for F1 seats. His position as the leading American driver in the European racing ladder strengthens his candidacy for future F1 opportunities.
