The newly formed Cupra Kiro team will utilize Porsche powertrains, establishing the first Formula E collaboration between Cupra and a fellow Volkswagen Group brand. This marks a departure from their previous setup with Abt, which used Mahindra powertrains.

Team Principal Alex Hui emphasized the partnership's significance, highlighting Cupra's performance-driven approach aligning with the team's ambitious goals. The collaboration begins at this weekend's race in Sao Paulo.

Xavi Serra, Cupra's global head of racing, described the partnership as a "logical next step," citing the combination of Cupra's technical expertise with Porsche's components as key to competing at the highest level. He also emphasized Formula E's role in developing future electric vehicle technology.

The team has confirmed Dan Ticktum and David Beckmann as their drivers for the 2024/25 season, which kicks off in Sao Paulo on Saturday. Kiro Race Co., which emerged from the former ERT squad, will make its Formula E debut under the new partnership.
