As a DIRTcar Nationals regular since 2017, Dietrich brings extensive experience at Volusia's 1/2-mile track. His recent performance in the 2024 Germfree Southern Sprint Car Shootout resulted in consecutive fifth-place finishes.
The early-season racing opportunity serves multiple purposes for Dietrich and his team:
- Getting valuable track time before the 410 Sprint Car season
- Testing and tuning at a single location
- Building team chemistry before Pennsylvania's racing season begins in March
- Gaining a competitive advantage over local competitors
Comparing Volusia to other tracks, Dietrich notes its similarity to Eldora Speedway, particularly in track shape and racing style. He emphasizes that despite his experience on Pennsylvania's 1/2-mile ovals, Volusia presents unique challenges.
The event marks a significant milestone for ASCS under World Racing Group's new ownership. Dietrich believes this partnership will benefit both ASCS and 360 Sprint Car racing nationwide, providing increased exposure and opportunities at premier venues.
Fans can catch the action live at Volusia Speedway Park from January 30 to February 1, with streaming available on DIRTVision.
