Frank Kelleher, Daytona International Speedway president, emphasized the event's unique status in motorsports, highlighting the electric atmosphere that builds throughout Speedweeks until the green flag drops.

Defending champion William Byron, who led a Hendrick Motorsports one-two finish last year alongside Alex Bowman, will attempt to become the first driver since Denny Hamlin (2019-2020) to secure back-to-back Daytona 500 victories. The 2024 finish required video review after a caution during the final lap with both drivers side-by-side.

Key Dates:

  • February 12: Practice and qualifying begins
  • February 13: Field set following Duel races
  • February 16: 67th Daytona 500
  • February 15, 2026: Next year's confirmed date

The historic race continues to demonstrate its prominence as NASCAR's premier event, maintaining its status as one of motorsport's most prestigious competitions.
