Doug Boles Promises Hands-On Approach as New IndyCar President

New IndyCar Series president Doug Boles made his first appearance at Sebring International Raceway, meeting with team owners and drivers during a two-day test. Boles, who retains his role as Indianapolis Motor Speedway president, now leads IndyCar operations under Penske Entertainment.

With a week into his new role, Boles emphasized his priorities:

  • Building and strengthening relationships with team managers, owners, and drivers
  • Understanding the full scope of IndyCar operations

  • Addressing long-term projects including new car development and manufacturer relationships

Boles highlighted his hands-on management approach, stating, "My plan is to get my hands dirty. That's certainly what I've done at the Speedway." He plans to maintain an office on the IndyCar side to work closely with staff, including SVP of Competition and Operations Mark Sibla.

Regarding his collaborative relationship with Roger Penske, Boles emphasized Penske's openness to different perspectives and willingness to consider various viewpoints in decision-making. This approach will continue in his new role overseeing IndyCar's development.
