Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki's 16-year-old Drew Adams made an impressive Supercross debut at the second round of Angel Stadium, finishing eighth in the 250SX West Region main event. The rookie was called up to replace injured teammates Garrett Marchbanks and Ty Masterpool.

After making his AMA Pro Racing debut at the Ironman National last summer with 15-11 moto scores, Adams approached his first Supercross with a learning mindset. He started the main event in sixth position before finishing eighth, a notable achievement for a rookie.

"I didn't really have any expectations coming in. I just wanted to learn and I think I did just that," Adams reflected. "Not many rookies get eighth in their first pro supercross race."

Adams noted key differences between Supercross and outdoor motocross, particularly in the event structure and atmosphere. While Motocross features intense back-to-back motos, Supercross provides more downtime between sessions and creates a unique environment with its stadium setting and fan interaction.

Looking ahead, Adams plans to gradually increase his intensity in upcoming races, starting with Glendale. His measured approach demonstrates maturity beyond his years, understanding the importance of building experience before pushing limits in professional Supercross competition.

"I think that's a good thing to do, but I also think it doesn't work out all the time," Adams said about rookies trying to prove themselves too quickly. "I just wanted to go out there and learn and not get hurt and make good laps."
