Team Penske's Tim Cindric Steps Down to Focus on IndyCar Program
Team Penske president Tim Cindric is stepping back from overseeing the organization's complete racing operations to concentrate exclusively on its IndyCar program. He will retain his role as President of Team Penske's IndyCar efforts while also managing the team's racing archives and historical assets.

After 25 years leading Penske Racing's combined IndyCar, IMSA/WEC, and NASCAR operations, Cindric cited the need for more flexibility at this stage of his career. His tenure since joining from Bobby Rahal's IndyCar team in 1999 has seen Team Penske become motorsport's most successful multi-discipline organization, securing championships across all series and victories at nearly every major event.
The reorganization maintains Ron Ruzewski as Managing Director of the IndyCar team. Michael Nelson continues as NASCAR Program President and VP of Operations, while Jonathan Diuguid remains Managing Director of Porsche Penske Motorsport. Both Nelson and Diuguid will now report directly to Roger Penske instead of Cindric.
"I appreciate the understanding Roger has provided throughout our conversations and I'm confident this team will continue to succeed as we have a proven leadership team in all areas," said Cindric, whose father Carl was a renowned IndyCar engine builder.
