EMPA Honors Motorsports Excellence at 52nd Annual Convention
The Eastern Motorsport Press Association (EMPA) hosted its 52nd annual gathering at the Holiday Inn East Mountain in Wilkes-Barre, PA, bringing together diverse motorsports professionals for a weekend of recognition and celebration.

Six legendary figures were inducted into the EMPA Hall of Fame:
- Alan Johnson and Jimmy Horton III (dirt racing)
- Don 'The Snake' Prudhomme (NHRA drag racing)
- Steve Park (asphalt racing)
- Sammy Swindell (sprint cars)
- Bones Bourcier (motorsports writing)

- Workshops for writers and photographers
- Keynote address by Paul Page, former voice of the Indy 500

- National Driver of the Year: Kyle Larson (Asphalt), David Gravel (Dirt)
- Northeast Driver of the Year: Justin Bonsignore (Asphalt), Mat Williamson (Dirt)
- Chris Economaki Newsmaker: Dave Blaney
- Photographer of the Year: Rich Corbett and Tommy Lane (tie)
- Writer of the Year: Ted Schmidt and Keith Waltz (tie)
The event highlighted significant contributions to motorsports journalism and racing excellence, demonstrating EMPA's commitment to recognizing and preserving the sport's legacy. The 53rd convention will return to the same venue next year.
Writing and Photography Contest winners were announced across multiple categories, celebrating excellence in motorsports media coverage. Dover Motor Speedway received the Ernie and Marilyn Saxton Service to EMPA award for their continued support of the organization.
