Erik Evans, 2023 British GT4 Championship winner, recently completed a dual campaign in both British GT4 Series and GT4 European Series, finishing sixth and eighth respectively in their final standings, showcasing strong adaptation to various circuits with the Ford Mustang S650 GT4.

Currently testing the Mustang GT3 in Portimao, Portugal, Evans is working closely with Ford Performance and Multimatic engineers to gain valuable experience in the more powerful GT3 car. The test represents a significant step up in his racing career, though future opportunities remain open-ended.

For 2025, Evans will focus solely on the GT4 European Series, moving away from British GT4 to optimize budget and competitive opportunities. The European series, featuring up to 50 cars with 35 within one second of each other, presents an intense racing environment where Evans achieved a notable top-10 finish in 2024.

The team's development of the Mustang throughout 2024 showed significant progress, evolving from early struggles to consistent top-10 performances. With accumulated data and experience, Evans and his team are better positioned for 2025, starting from a stronger baseline in both car setup and tire management.

Highlights from 2024 included making history with the first GT start in Saudi Arabia at the Jeddah Corniche Circuit, which Evans considers one of his favorite tracks due to its challenging high-speed corners and unique atmosphere. His standout weekend came at Hockenheim, securing two runner-up finishes and leading 95% of race one with the fastest lap.

Evans emphasizes the importance of confidence in such competitive environments, where manufacturers, teams, and top drivers constantly push the limits. The championships demand peak performance, making mental strength as crucial as technical skill.
