Ford Mustang GT3 secured its first global victory at the Daytona 24 Hours, marking a significant turnaround from its challenging debut in 2024. The No. 65 car, driven by Dennis Olsen, claimed the win in GTD PRO class, while the sister No. 64 finished third, completing a double podium for Ford.

Key improvements over the past year included resolving the rear deck lid issues caused by side drafting and enhancing overall team preparation. The 5.4-liter V8-powered Mustang GT3 demonstrated remarkable progress in both reliability and performance.

The victory came during an intense battle in the closing stages, with seven cars finishing on the lead lap. A dramatic sequence involving Corvette Racing and Paul Miller Racing's BMW helped Ford secure the win, as their competition struggled with contact and penalties.

Driver Dennis Olsen's defensive strategy proved crucial in the final restart, maintaining the lead while competitors fought behind. The win held special significance as it fulfilled Ford CEO Jim Farley's directive to finish ahead of rival Chevrolet.

Team driver Christopher Mies highlighted the car's development: "We had to learn the hard way in the first race, but the improvements, especially in team preparation, have been significant." The victory demonstrates Ford's successful evolution of their GT3 program and sets a promising foundation for future races.
