South Korean automotive manufacturer Genesis has unveiled its top-class prototype sports car program in Dubai, marking its entry into premier endurance racing.

The program introduces Genesis Magma Racing and its LMDh-spec prototype, the GMR-001, built on an ORECA chassis. The team will compete in the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) in 2026 before expanding to IMSA's GTP class with two cars in 2027.

The team has signed veteran drivers Andre Lotterer and Pipo Derani, who bring extensive prototype racing experience. Track testing will commence in summer 2025.

Hyundai Motorsport will support the program, with Cyril Abiteboul serving as team principal. The team will operate from Circuit Paul Ricard in southern France.

Before its WEC debut, Genesis will partner with IDEC Sport to compete in the 2025 European Le Mans Series LMP2 class. The driver lineup includes Logan Sargeant, Jamie Chadwick, and Mathys Jaubert.

The program represents Genesis' strategic move into motorsport, combining the brand's design philosophy with high-performance racing technology. Testing begins next summer, with the first competitive appearance scheduled for 2026.
