With extensive experience in Formula 1, Lowdon previously served as sporting director and CEO of Manor's F1 entries under Virgin and Marussia names until 2015. For the past two years, he has been an advisor to GM and Andretti Global, helping structure the team while also managing Zhou Guanyu.
"I'm truly honored to be appointed as the team principal of this exciting new team," said Lowdon. "Formula 1 is the greatest team sport in the world, and teams are all about people. This is a team with a real love for racing, and we have the experience and expertise to do just that."
TWG Global's motorsport business CEO Daniel Towriss emphasized that Lowdon's extensive experience in F1 and motorsport was crucial to his appointment. "His experience on both the technical and managerial sides of Formula 1 and other motorsports ventures will serve him well as he builds the Cadillac Formula 1 team," Towriss stated.
GM president Mark Reuss praised Lowdon's contributions, noting, "He has great racing expertise, knows how to assemble a high-performing team, and embodies the values the Cadillac Formula 1 team will represent in all its endeavors."
While Cadillac awaits final entry confirmation, Lowdon and the team continue their preparation work for their 2026 Formula 1 debut.
