Formula 1's smallest team Haas exceeded expectations in 2024, finishing seventh in the constructors' championship despite narrowly missing out on sixth place to Alpine's late-season surge.

Team principal Ayao Komatsu expressed satisfaction with the team's performance, noting they surpassed their pre-season target of eighth place. The team accumulated 58 points throughout the season, with an impressive 27 points scored in the final quarter - a significant improvement over previous years where they typically struggled in the latter half.

Key achievements in 2024 included:

• Secured 7th place in constructors' championship

• Achieved closest gap to pole position in Abu Dhabi (three tenths)
• Demonstrated consistent car development throughout the season

Despite Alpine's crucial double-podium finish in Brazil helping them secure sixth place, Komatsu emphasized the team's progress. Starting from a "negative place" with limited resources and a delayed car development program, Haas showed remarkable improvement throughout the season.

The team's late-season performance was particularly noteworthy, with driver Nico Hulkenberg qualifying within eight hundredths of P2 in Abu Dhabi, showcasing the team's development capabilities and potential for future success.

This performance marks a significant step forward for the smallest team on the grid, who managed to consistently develop their car throughout the season - addressing a historical weakness of strong starts followed by mid-season decline.
