Team principal Ayao Komatsu confirmed that the team will operate at the F1 budget cap this year, supported by increased commercial revenue and prize money from their seventh-place finish in the 2024 constructors' championship.
This development marks a crucial shift in the team's financial operations. While previously able to spend freely under the budget cap, the team now faces the challenge of managing expenses within the cap limits. Komatsu emphasized that operating at the budget cap is essential for maintaining competitiveness in Formula 1.
Despite being the smallest team with approximately 330 personnel, Haas F1 maintains efficiency through strategic partnerships, particularly with Ferrari for components and manufacturing in Maranello. While this arrangement results in higher costs against the budget cap, Komatsu confirms it remains the most effective approach for the team's current structure and will continue for at least the next few years.
The team's ability to self-fund through prize money and sponsorship revenue represents a significant achievement in Haas F1's evolution, demonstrating the success of their business model after nearly a decade in the sport.
