Lewis Hamilton faces ongoing challenges adapting to his new Ferrari after his move from Mercedes, with no immediate solutions in sight for his performance struggles.

The seven-time world champion's recent results paint a concerning picture, finishing seventh, fifth, and seventh in the last three grands prix, despite a promising Sprint victory in China. In Jeddah, Hamilton finished over 30 seconds behind teammate Charles Leclerc, who secured a podium finish.

Hamilton described his Saudi Arabian Grand Prix experience as "horrible," citing multiple issues:

  • Massive understeer in the first stint
  • High tire degradation
  • Poor overall balance
  • Lack of grip throughout the race
  • Difficulty controlling the car in corners

"Nothing positive to take from it, except for Charles finishing on the podium," Hamilton stated. "I was just sliding around. Nothing I did would work."

Looking ahead to the Miami Grand Prix on May 4, Hamilton remains pessimistic about finding quick solutions. He acknowledged Leclerc's advantage comes from extensive experience with the car, though data shows minimal differences in their driving approaches.

Hamilton candidly admitted, "This is how it's going to be for the rest of the year. It's pretty painful." He also expressed his frustration with the current ground effect era cars, introduced in 2022, describing them as "the worst" he's experienced in his career.

The British driver emphasized that the issues extend beyond just car setup, noting that while qualifying performance depends on his ability to extract performance, race pace remains a significant challenge despite trying various approaches.
