IMS Dirt Track Makes History with USAC Indiana Sprint Week Opening Night in 2025
The Indianapolis Motor Speedway (IMS) will make history by hosting the opening night of USAC NOS Energy Drink Indiana Sprint Week on July 24, 2025. The event will feature the USAC AMSOIL Sprint Car National Championship at the Dirt Track at IMS.

Racing will take place on a specially designed dirt track within Turn 3 of the IMS infield, where 900hp USAC sprint cars will compete. C.J. Leary previously won at the venue during a September 2024 invitational event, marking the first time USAC sprint cars raced at IMS.
The 2025 USAC Indiana Sprint Week schedule includes eight events across eight different tracks over a 10-night span from July 24 to August 2:
- July 24: Indianapolis Motor Speedway
- July 25: Lincoln Park Speedway (Putnamville)
- July 26: Kokomo Speedway
- July 27: Lawrenceburg Speedway
- July 30: Circle City Raceway
- July 31: Terre Haute Action Track
- Aug. 1: Bloomington Speedway
- Aug. 2: Tri-State Speedway (Haubstadt)
USAC President Kevin Miller emphasized the historical significance, stating, "Sprint car racing and the Indianapolis Motor Speedway share a deeply intertwined history, and this event symbolizes the unification of two racing traditions."
IMS President Doug Boles added that the addition of sprint cars demonstrates the venue's commitment to showcasing diverse motorsports disciplines while celebrating Indiana's rich racing heritage.
