JGR Successfully Appeals Chase Briscoe's Daytona 500 Penalty
Joe Gibbs Racing has successfully appealed the February penalty imposed on Chase Briscoe's No. 19 team following the Daytona 500, where officials had initially cited unauthorized modifications to a single-source supplied spoiler part.

The National Motorsports Appeals Panel, consisting of Dixon Johnston, Hunter Nickell, and Cathy Rice, determined that the spoiler base holes' elongation resulted from normal attachment to the rear deck rather than intentional modification.
The original penalties included:
- Loss of 100 championship points
- Deduction of 10 playoff points
- $100,000 team fine
- Four-race suspension for crew chief James Small
All penalties have been rescinded, resulting in:
- Briscoe moving from 46th to 14th in championship standings
- Points adjustment from -28 to 72 points
- Removal of negative playoff points
- Cancellation of crew chief suspension and fine
"Biggest points day of my career!" Briscoe celebrated on social media, thanking NASCAR for the opportunity to present evidence and acknowledging the Joe Gibbs Racing team's efforts in preparing the appeal.
The decision validates JGR's position that no unauthorized modifications were made to the single-source supplied part, marking a significant victory for the team early in the season.
