The Honda factory driver will pilot the No.18 ORECA 07 LMP2 alongside Tobias Lütke and David Heinemeier Hansson, replacing Ryan Dalziel in the lineup. This extends his existing three-race schedule with Acura Meyer Shank Racing at Watkins Glen and Indianapolis.

The announcement marks a new partnership between Honda Racing Corporation (HRC) and Era Motorsport, aimed at providing young drivers with North American sports car racing experience. Era Motorsport has previously collaborated with HRC on historic Honda/Acura sports prototype restoration projects.

Ohta, who recently made his IMSA debut at the Daytona 24 Hours, brings extensive experience from GTP class, Super Formula, SUPER GT GT500, and Super Taikyu competition. Despite leading laps in his debut race in the No.93 MSR Acura ARX-06, a suspension issue resulted in a 14th place overall finish.

The Japanese driver will participate in this week's IMSA Sanctioned Test at Sebring in preparation for the upcoming 12 Hours of Sebring event.
