The race unfolded in three distinct phases:

  • Early lead taken by Loren Healy in the factory Ford Bronco
  • JP Gomez leading after the second lap
  • Final "Mystery Lap" introducing new, uncharted rock trails

The decisive moment came during the secret third lap when Josh Blyler broke his vehicle, and JP Gomez faced electrical issues, allowing Chaney to take the lead. Chaney's purpose-built chassis with Can-Am components and 37-inch Maxxis tires proved crucial for the victory.

Final standings:

  1. Kyle Chaney (Can-Am)
  2. JP Gomez (+30 minutes)
  3. Brian Caprera
  4. Robby Gordon (shared with son Max)
  5. Cody Addington

Only 27 of 97 starters completed the challenging course.

Notable performances in other categories:

  • Brad Lovell won Friday's Every Man Challenge race in a Ford Bronco
  • Brock Heger dominated the Can-Am UTV Championship
  • Class winners included Casey Currie (Pro Stock Turbo UTV), Jeremy McGrath (Pro Stock NA UTV), and Cody Miller (Pro Mod UTV)

The race showcased the evolution of UTV competitiveness in extreme off-road racing, with Chaney's victory marking a significant milestone in the sport's history.
