Kyle Strickler Eyes Fifth Gator Championship at Volusia Speedway Park
Kyle Strickler, the Mooresville, NC driver, aims to secure his fifth Big Gator title at Volusia Speedway Park. After an unexpected entry into DIRTcar's UMP Modified Florida Speedweeks in Jeff Mathews' car, Strickler secured a win and a podium finish, boosting his championship chances.

With 17 victories at Volusia, including 14 during DIRTcar Nationals with UMP Modifieds, Strickler has established himself as a dominant force at the track. His success includes two World of Outlaws Late Models wins and one Emil and Dale Reutimann Memorial victory. He claimed his first Big Gator trophy in 2023.
The 2022 track renovation transformed Volusia from a high-speed venue to a more technical challenge, which suits Strickler's driving style. The surface now varies dramatically throughout races, requiring precise adjustments and skilled driving.
Strickler notes that racing Modifieds before Late Models at Volusia provides valuable track experience. The Modified's more driver-dependent nature helps prepare for the Late Model's increased speed and grip.
He'll compete in the 54th Annual Federated Auto Parts DIRTcar Nationals (Jan. 29-Feb. 8) for UMP Modified events, followed by DIRTcar Late Models and World of Outlaws Late Models competitions (Feb. 10-15), pursuing both Modified and Late Model championships.
Strickler joins an elite group of drivers, including Nick Hoffman, Kyle Bronson, and Ryan Gustin, who have won DIRTcar Nationals Gator trophies in both UMP Modified and Super Late Model divisions.
