Leclerc's 10-Place Grid Penalty Deals Blow to Ferrari's F1 Title Hopes
Ferrari's championship hopes face a significant setback as Charles Leclerc receives a 10-place grid penalty for the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix due to exceeding power unit component limits.

The penalty comes after Ferrari was forced to change Leclerc's energy store following power unit issues during the first practice session. Despite the setback, Leclerc managed to set the fastest time in FP1, where he shared the track with his brother Arthur, who finished 18th.
The timing couldn't be worse for Ferrari, who currently trail McLaren by 21 points in the constructors' championship with only 44 points available in the season finale. This penalty significantly complicates their pursuit of McLaren, especially following Leclerc's recent second-place finish in Qatar that had narrowed the gap.
Additionally, Williams faces penalties for both drivers, with Alex Albon and Franco Colapinto receiving five-place grid drops for exceeding their gearbox component allocation.
