The celebration will feature intimate 'David Letterman-style' interviews conducted by RRDC President Bobby Rahal with the three honorees, each of whom has left an indelible mark on Long Beach racing history:
- Mario Andretti: Four-time winner, including the 1977 Formula 1 US Grand Prix West
- Al Unser Jr.: Record holder with six victories (1988-91, 1994-95)
- Brian Redman: Winner of the inaugural 1975 Long Beach race
All proceeds will benefit two organizations:
- The Mark Donohue Foundation, supporting RRDC's SAFEisFAST initiative
- The Grand Prix Foundation of Long Beach, specifically funding Long Beach City College's Automotive Technology Program
The event precedes the 50th Anniversary Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach, the third race of the 2025 NTT IndyCar Series. Public registration details will be announced soon.
"This event has become an icon of the sport, encompassing Formula 1, Formula 5000, Trans-Am, and the popular celebrity races," notes Rahal, highlighting Long Beach's diverse racing heritage and its significance in motorsport history.
