Everything in Scott McLaughlin's world is on the rise. The three-time Australian Supercars champion has become Team Penske's top IndyCar performer since moving to the United States in 2020, achieving the team's best championship positions in 2023 and 2024.

McLaughlin's latest achievement is joining Trackhouse Racing's Rolex 24 At Daytona effort, where he'll share a Corvette Z06 GT3.R with countryman Shane van Gisbergen, Ben Keating, and Conor Zilisch in the GTD Pro class. This marks his return to GT racing after previously competing at Daytona in LMP2.

The partnership with van Gisbergen is particularly noteworthy, as the two were often portrayed as rivals during their Supercars days. McLaughlin clarifies their relationship: "The media made it a lot worse than it was. We would always catch up for a beer after the race. This is the first time we're back in the same team together, which is pretty cool."

McLaughlin expresses enthusiasm about his teammates, praising Keating as a champion in the sport and acknowledging Zilisch as a rising star. "We've got the whole range of age and experience with us," he notes.

The opportunity came through General Motors, showcasing their continued investment in motorsport. McLaughlin adds, "I'm absolutely honored to be wearing the Chevy badge at Daytona. GM are all-in and that's really, really cool."
