The M25 motorway will undergo two complete weekend closures at junction 10 in March 2025 as part of ongoing improvement works. The closures will take place from 9pm on Friday, March 7 until 6am on Monday, March 10, and again from 9pm on Friday, March 21 until 6am on Monday, March 24.

These closures mark the final planned disruptions for this project, following three weekend closures in 2024. The works are necessary to demolish and remove old bridges as part of the junction improvement scheme.

Jonathan Wade, National Highways' senior project manager, acknowledges the disruption but emphasizes the long-term benefits: "This infrastructure improvement will benefit millions of people, though it inevitably causes some short-term disruption. We advise road users to allow extra time and follow official diversion routes rather than satnav guidance."

Key Points:

  • Official diversion routes will be published closer to the closure dates
  • Main project completion remains scheduled for summer 2025
  • Final completion date extended to spring 2026
  • Most road users won't be affected by the extended completion timeline

The junction 10 improvements will include additional lanes at the A3/M25 intersection to improve traffic flow and enhance safety when entering and exiting the motorway. While extreme weather in 2024 caused some delays, the project team has worked to maintain the schedule for essential on-road elements.
