The 28-year-old Italian driver, who previously served as a Porsche factory driver, had joined Lamborghini at the end of 2023. During his brief tenure, Cairoli competed in the Iron Lynx IMSA GTP program with the SC63 and participated in the Le Mans Hypercar category.
The departure comes as Lamborghini scales back its SC63 program to a single car for the five IMSA Michelin Endurance Cup rounds. Sources indicate that multiple manufacturers have shown interest in signing Cairoli.
"I want to thank all the people I met during my time at Lamborghini Squadra Corse," Cairoli stated. "2024 represented a challenge for my career, and it was an intense 12 months in which I truly gave my best and where I feel I have grown as a person and as a driver."
Cairoli concluded by noting that he looks forward to announcing his next career move soon.
