Mike Gular, veteran modified driver from Boyertown, PA, is embarking on a new racing venture for 2025 after the passing of his longtime car owner Terry Fasnacht. Rather than seeking another ride, Gular has decided to establish his own racing operation, fielding cars for both himself and his son Chase.

The new team will focus primarily on Grandview Speedway, with Gular running Modifieds while his 15-year-old son Chase competes in the Crate 602 Sportsman division. They'll start the season with two cars - a spec car for Mike and one for Chase.

Coming off a challenging 2024 season without any wins, Gular remains optimistic about 2025. Despite the winless season, he maintained consistency with a third-place points finish at Grandview. The team has secured essential equipment, including multiple spec engines and an open motor.

Key aspects of the new operation:

  • Racing the family No. 53, returning to his father Rudy Gular's number
  • Primary focus on Grandview's approximately 25-race schedule
  • Plans to compete in select special events, starting at Port Royal in March
  • Operating from a two-bay garage rental facility

The operation is supported by sponsors including MB Roofing, Weaknecht Archery, Extreme Mechanical, Insigner Performance, and Penske Shocks, with additional partnerships pending announcement.

Gular believes that taking a step back to focus on a more limited schedule will allow better race preparation and potentially improved performance. Regarding Grandview's new rules package for 2025, he maintains a practical outlook: "The good guys will figure it out. It's the same for everybody, so nobody will have a big advantage."

For Gular, this transition marks his 25th season of racing, representing not just a new chapter in his career but an opportunity to build a sustainable family racing operation for the future.
