Mike Mahaney showcased a strong performance at Albany-Saratoga Speedway, securing a fourth-place finish in the Super DIRTcar Series—his first Series top five since late 2023. This marks a significant improvement from his 10th-place finish in the 2024 standings.

Mahaney maintained a top-five position throughout the 60-lap Feature, though a crucial caution on Lap 30 potentially cost him a better finish. Running third and gaining on the leaders in traffic, the race's only restart forced him to the inside lane, allowing Sears to pass him on the outside.

The Elizabethtown, NY driver credits his recent success to extensive offseason preparation and equipment improvements, particularly highlighting the contributions of team members Lance Maxon and Jacob Powell. His strong qualifying performances in both 2025 Super DIRTcar Series championship races have resulted in front-row Heat Race starts and subsequent victories.

Looking ahead to Georgetown Speedway in May, Mahaney brings significant experience with 13 previous starts and four top-five finishes at the track. However, the switch to Hoosier Racing Tires presents a new challenge, essentially making it like racing on a new track for all competitors.

The Delaware Diamond 75 at Georgetown Speedway is scheduled for Tuesday, May 13, offering a $10,075 prize to the winner and serving as the first Super DIRT Week 53 Qualifier of 2025. The winner will secure a guaranteed starting position in the Billy Whittaker Cars 200.
