NASCAR continues forward with its Mexico City race plans for this summer, despite growing rumors suggesting otherwise. The event, featuring both NASCAR Xfinity Series and Cup Series races, is set for June 13-15 at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez road course.

A recent media event at the track featured prominent drivers Christopher Bell, Ryan Blaney, Daniel Suarez, and Chase Elliott, coinciding with the start of ticket sales for the race weekend.

The organization is closely monitoring U.S.-Mexico relations amid current political tensions. President Trump's proposed 25% tariffs on Canada and Mexico, though temporarily delayed for some imported goods, and Mexico's President Claudia Sheinhaum's potential retaliatory tariffs are key factors being considered.

While rumors suggest NASCAR might cancel the Mexico City event in favor of the Daytona road course, as was done during the 2021 pandemic, NASCAR maintains its commitment to the international event. The Mexico race would mark the first Cup Series points race held internationally in over 60 years.

As with all races, NASCAR has contingency plans in place for the Mexico City event, ensuring preparation for various scenarios that might arise.
