Denny Hamlin and Ty Gibbs will work with new crew chiefs for the 2025 NASCAR Cup Series season as part of Joe Gibbs Racing's organizational changes.

Chris Gabehart, after leading Hamlin's No. 11 team for six seasons, has been promoted to competition director. During their partnership, Gabehart and Hamlin secured 22 victories, including two Daytona 500 wins and three straight Championship 4 appearances.

Chris Gayle will transition from Ty Gibbs' No. 54 team to become Hamlin's new crew chief. Gayle's impressive record includes leading Joe Gibbs Racing's Xfinity Series program to 10 wins in 2021 and a championship with Gibbs in 2022. Most recently, he guided Gibbs to his first Cup Series playoff appearance in 2024, finishing 15th in the standings.

Joe Gibbs Racing is currently finalizing the selection for Gibbs' new crew chief on the No. 54 team. The organization emphasizes these changes will strengthen their overall team structure heading into the 2025 season.
