
NASCAR Legends Reunite for Historic IROC Race at Monterey Motorsports Reunion
Several NASCAR legends including Jeff Gordon, Mark Martin, Bill Elliott, Ken Schrader, and Bobby Labonte will join Danny Sullivan and Scott Pruett to compete in the IROC race group at the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion. The event takes place August 13-16 at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca.

IROC race cars lined up Daytona
Ray Evernham, IROC co-owner and former crew chief for Jeff Gordon, emphasized the historical significance of bringing these drivers together, noting it will be the first time several participants, including Gordon, will race at Laguna Seca.
McLaren Racing CEO Zak Brown and Friends of Laguna Seca Vice President Bruce Canepa bring local track experience to the event. Brown will drive the 1977 Chevrolet IROC Camaro previously piloted by racing legends and Hollywood stars, while Canepa will handle a Dodge Avenger with its own impressive driver history.
Notable participants include:
- Jeff Gordon: 4-time NASCAR champion with 93 wins
- Mark Martin: 5-time IROC Series champion and NASCAR Hall of Famer
- Bobby Labonte: 2000 Winston Cup champion and 2001 IROC Series champion
- Bill Elliott: 1988 Winston Cup Series champion with 44 career wins
- Danny Sullivan: 1985 Indianapolis 500 winner and 1988 CART champion
- Scott Pruett: Nine-time American road racing champion
- Ken Schrader: Veteran NASCAR driver with diverse racing experience
Al Unser Jr. will serve as the honorary pace car driver and participate in autograph sessions. The IROC race compound will be accessible to fans in the paddock, featuring walk-through historical displays, autograph sessions, panel discussions, and merchandise.
