The new Renault Twingo emerges as an affordable electric hatchback featuring retro styling and modern technology, set to launch in 2026 with a price tag under £17,000.

The interior showcases a blend of retro elements and contemporary features, including a 10.1-inch touchscreen and a 7.0-inch digital driver's display. Notable design elements include colored cork flooring and unique seat adjustment knobs styled like skateboard wheels.

The exterior design pays homage to the original 1990s Twingo, featuring friendly round lights and a distinctive bubble shape. The five-door configuration maintains a sporty appearance with cleverly concealed rear doors.

Built on the same platform as the Renault 5, the Twingo is expected to achieve 185 miles of range with an efficiency rating of 6.2 miles per kWh. The battery capacity will be smaller than the Renault 5's 40kWh pack.

While the launch is confirmed for early 2026, UK availability remains unconfirmed. The sub-£17,000 price point positions it competitively against the Dacia Spring and significantly below the Fiat 500 Electric.
