
NHRA Finals Resume After Plane Crash Incident at Pomona Dragstrip
A single-engine plane crashed in a motorhome lot near the In-N-Out Burger Pomona Dragstrip, causing a temporary halt to the NHRA Finals championship event for nearly two hours on Sunday, November 17, 2024.

The incident occurred at approximately 11:11 a.m. local time, with the plane striking multiple vehicles before making contact with an RV. Three vehicles were visibly damaged - two pickup trucks and an SUV. Emergency responders, including NHRA safety teams, were immediately on scene.
According to L.A. County Fire engineer Jonathan Torres, emergency services treated four individuals: two in critical condition and two with moderate injuries. All were transported to local hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries. No injuries were reported among people on the ground.
The crash site was located in a parking area past the grandstand on the left side of the dragstrip, near Brackett Field Airport. Both the NTSB and FAA have been notified and are investigating the cause of the crash.
The NHRA event, which began at 11 a.m. local time, resumed operations at approximately 12:50 p.m. after clearance from the Pomona Police Department and L.A. County Fire Department.
