The substantial payout encompasses event purses for both Mission Foods and Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series drivers competing on the national tour. It also covers the year-end championship purse for the Mission Foods Drag Racing Series, All-Star Callout events, #2Fast2Tasty Challenge races for pro classes, and various incentivized programs. A notable addition for 2025 is the regular-season championship, which will reward point leaders across all four professional classes.

NHRA president Glen Cromwell emphasized the organization's commitment to rewarding racers at all levels, stating: "We're excited to award $25 million to these incredible teams and competitors who race at such a high level and put on a tremendous show for our fans across the country."

The introduction of the regular-season championship aims to enhance excitement during both the regular season and the Cornwell Quality Tools U.S. Nationals, which is recognized as the world's largest drag racing event.

The 2025 season kicks off March 6-9 at Gainesville Raceway with the Amalie Motor Oil NHRA Gatornationals.
