TAG Heuer Porsche currently dominates the teams' championship with double the points of nearest rival NEOM McLaren. The team has secured two pole positions through Wehrlein and two second-place finishes from Antonio Felix da Costa. However, the defending champion acknowledges Formula E's competitive nature demands constant vigilance.

"We have a super-strong package, but every weekend we just have to deliver," Wehrlein explains. He points to strong competition, particularly noting Oli Rowland's performance in Sao Paulo, while acknowledging Mexico's historically favorable conditions for Porsche.

The German driver anticipates more teams and drivers will challenge for the championship this season, contrasting with last year's final showdown between Porsche and Jaguar. He specifically mentioned Rowland's potential impact, noting how missing two races last season affected his championship chances.

Following a major crash in the season opener that required a complete car rebuild, Wehrlein maintains a positive outlook. He praised his team's meticulous reconstruction work, expressing relief that the new car feels normal and competitive.

"I've forgotten it already," Wehrlein says of the crash. "I don't mind if it hurts for a couple of days — I'm always looking forward to the comeback." He used the Christmas break to recover fully, ensuring he didn't miss any crucial preparation time.
