In his new role, Sowery will work extensively with Honda's Driver-in-the-Loop (DiL) simulator, focusing on hybrid deployment strategies and vehicle model development. The 28-year-old's position puts him in line for potential race opportunities with the team.

"The opportunity allows me to expand on my IndyCar debut while contributing directly to the team's continued growth and success," said Sowery, who has maintained an active presence in sports car racing, including a victory at the Dubai 24 Hours.

Bobby Rahal praised Sowery's appointment: "He's shown exceptional talent, resilience, and maturity, not just in IndyCar but also with his recent endurance racing success. His experience and versatility will undoubtedly strengthen our team as we aim for competitive excellence this season."

The signing follows several years of discussions between Sowery and RLL, marking a significant step in the British driver's IndyCar career progression.
