The situation escalated when the lapped No. 48 BMW interfered with the battle between Connor De Phillippi and Tommy Milner. After Augusto Farfus's blocking maneuver led to contact between De Phillippi and Milner, the Corvette suffered rear panel damage requiring repairs.
