Ryder Laplante, an 18-year-old racer from Calera, OK, has announced his commitment to compete in the 2025 American Sprint Car Series (ASCS) National Tour. He'll be driving the family-owned No. 88R Maxim Chassis, powered by Moss Racing Engines and sponsored by Oklahoma Truck Driving Academy.

Laplante brings impressive credentials to the ASCS tour, including a NOW600 Micro Sprint Series championship in the Restricted A-Class division (2018). His recent third-place finish at Rush County Speedway, where he advanced from seventh position, demonstrated his ability to compete with seasoned ASCS drivers.

His racing progression includes:

• 2018-2021: Micro Sprints
• 2022: Added 305 Sprint Cars
• 2023: Debuted in 410 Sprint Cars
• 2024: Focusing on 360 Sprint Cars in ASCS

"I ran with [ASCS] quite a bit last year and I could keep up with them, I could outrun them, I could beat them," says Laplante. His experience in 410 Sprint Cars has given him an edge, making the 360 division feel more manageable.

The young driver understands the importance of qualifying in ASCS format: "You've got to unload fast, and Qualifying is everything." His long-term aspirations extend beyond ASCS, as he aims to build a professional racing career.

Laplante's next ASCS National Tour event is scheduled for Saturday, April 12, at Salina Highbanks Speedway in Salina, OK. The event will be available for streaming on DIRTVision.
