Spire Motorsports Sets Sights on Victory Lane for 2025 Season
Spire Motorsports, now entering its seventh NASCAR Cup Series season, is setting ambitious goals for 2025 with expectations of securing race wins and playoff positions.
The team has made significant strides since its 2019 debut, marked by Carson Hocevar's impressive 2024 season with six top-10 finishes and Rookie of the Year honors. Despite finishing 21st in points, Hocevar achieved the team's highest points finish in history.

For 2025, Spire has expanded to a three-car operation featuring:
- Carson Hocevar in his sophomore year
- Michael McDowell in the No. 71
- Justin Haley in the No. 7
Key leadership appointments include:
- Luke Lambert (Hocevar's crew chief)
- Travis Peterson (McDowell's crew chief)
- Rodney Childers (Haley's crew chief)
- Ryan Sparks (Competition Director)
- Matt McCall (Director of Vehicle Performance)
- Dax Gerringer (Technical Director)
The team has invested heavily in infrastructure, including:
- Purchase of a 77,000-square-foot facility in Mooresville, North Carolina
- Additional personnel hiring
- Expanded resources and sponsorships
- Multiple charter acquisitions
While Spire's only Cup Series victory came in 2019 with Haley at a weather-shortened Daytona race, team co-owner Jeff Dickerson believes they're positioned to win on merit in 2025. The organization has evolved from its startup roots to become a serious contender, attracting top talent and maintaining a racer's mentality throughout its operation.
The team's growth and recent performance improvements suggest they're on the cusp of breakthrough success, with management focused on translating their enhanced capabilities into victories and playoff appearances in the 2025 season.
