Super DIRTcar Series Returns to Sharon Speedway After 8-Year Absence for August Showdown
The Super DIRTcar Series will make its long-awaited return to Sharon Speedway on Monday, Aug. 11, marking the first appearance at the historic 3/8-mile dirt track since 2017. The event, presented by Capital Renegade Custom Coaches, offers a $10,000 prize to the winner and a guaranteed starting spot in the Billy Whittaker Cars 200 during Super DIRT Week 53.

Peter Britten, who secured his first career Super DIRTcar Series win at Sharon, praised the track's wide layout and racing surface. "It's really wide and gets slick from top to bottom, with a little moisture near the tires at the bottom. It's just a fun track to race on," said Britten.
Veteran driver Jimmy Phelps, with four career starts and a 2016 victory at Sharon, highlighted recent improvements: "It's a top-notch facility. With the new surface, it's even better now."
The event features support from sponsors including Thermo Supply, King's Sanitary Service, Russ King Racing, and King Bros. Ready Mix Concrete. The track's 410 Sprint Car division will join the card for a full night of open-wheel racing action.
This addition brings the 2025 Super DIRTcar Series schedule to 35 races, including 10 Super DIRT Week Qualifiers. The Sharon event kicks off a two-night swing that continues at Ransomville Speedway for the Ron Martin Summer Nationals on August 12.
Sharon Speedway, operated by NASCAR and dirt racing icon Dave Blaney, will host five major events in 2025, including two World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Cars races (May 24 and Sept. 27) and World of Outlaws Late Models competitions (July 11-12).
