Sato, who previously claimed Indy 500 victories in 2017 with Andretti Global and 2020 with RLL, will pilot the No. 75 Honda-powered entry. The Japanese veteran has a strong history with RLL, securing four of his six IndyCar Series wins with the team.
"I'm very excited to return for the 109th Indy 500 with Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing," said Sato. The effort will be primarily sponsored by AMADA, with additional support from Panasonic Automotive Systems, Niterra, Deloitte Tohmatsu, NAC, Honda, and HRC.
RLL co-owner Mike Lanigan expressed confidence in Sato's abilities, noting, "Takuma has always been quick at the speedway and his two wins confirm his abilities at the Greatest Spectacle in Racing." The team aims to help Sato achieve the rare feat of becoming a three-time Indianapolis 500 winner.
