Thunder on the Thruway Series Returns Strong for 2025 Season

The Thunder on the Thruway Series returns to Fonda Speedway and Utica-Rome Speedway in 2025, continuing its rich racing tradition that began in 2008. The series will feature three races at each track, with events scheduled for May 3, June 21, and August 9 at Fonda, and April 25, June 27, and August 1 at Utica-Rome.

Originally known as the Go-Green NMX Series in 2008 and the Dual Track Thunder Series in 2009, the competition has evolved into a premier racing event featuring Modified, Sportsman, and Pro Stock divisions.

The Track of Champions Fonda Speedway, operating since 1953, continues to host this prestigious series alongside Utica-Rome Speedway, maintaining its position as a cornerstone of Northeast dirt track racing. Located at the Montgomery County Fairgrounds, the speedway remains accessible via New York State Thruway Exit 28.
