Trans Am Series Unveils Inaugural Hall of Fame Class: 18 Legends to be Honored at Sebring

The inaugural Trans Am Hall of Fame has announced its first class of 18 legendary inductees, recognizing drivers and team owners who shaped North America's longest-running professional road racing series. The induction ceremony will take place on February 21 at Sebring International Raceway, where Trans Am debuted in 1966.

The inaugural class includes:

  • John Clagett: Former President who led Trans Am for nearly 40 years, securing pivotal partnerships and overseeing significant growth
  • Wally Dallenbach Jr.: Two-time champion (1985-86) and youngest title holder at age 22
  • Mark Donohue: Dominated 1967-1971 with 29 victories for Penske Racing
  • Chris Dyson: Three-time TA class champion (2021-23) with 26 National Championship wins
  • Ron Fellows: 20-time winner known for multiple runner-up championship finishes
  • George Follmer: Only driver to win Trans Am and Can-Am championships in the same year (1972)
  • Ernie Francis Jr.: Seven-time champion across GT and TA classes
  • Paul Gentilozzi: Record holder with 31 TA class victories and five championships
  • Dan Gurney: Legendary innovator and race winner
  • Parnelli Jones: Seven wins in 29 races between 1967-1971
  • Tommy Kendall: Four-time champion with 28 career wins
  • Roger Penske: Team owner who dominated late 1960s with Mark Donohue
  • Greg Pickett: Winner across six decades in both National and Western Championships
  • Scott Pruett: Three-time champion with 22 wins across three decades
  • Willy T. Ribbs: Groundbreaking driver with 17 career victories
  • Jack Roush: Dominant team owner with multiple driver and manufacturer championships
  • Amy Ruman: First female Trans Am race winner and champion
  • Bob Tullius: Winner of inaugural Trans Am race and two-time champion

The 2025 season begins February 20-23 at Sebring International Raceway, featuring both modern Trans Am racing and Historic Trans Am competition.
