Rinus VeeKay has signed with Dale Coyne Racing to drive the No. 18 Honda for the 2025 IndyCar Series season, completing the 27-car field. The five-year veteran will partner with rookie Jacob Abel, who will pilot the No. 51 Honda.

The partnership follows VeeKay's successful test with the team at Indianapolis last fall, where his feedback approach particularly impressed Coyne. "He didn't say how to fix the car. He said what the car was doing, and we came up with how to fix the car," Coyne explained.

For VeeKay, who unexpectedly departed Ed Carpenter Racing in September, this represents a fresh start. "After a difficult start to my offseason, I am delighted to end the winter with this news," the Dutch driver stated.

The Illinois-based team has assembled an experienced engineering lineup, with CART IndyCar Series and NASCAR veteran Ed Nathman engineering VeeKay's car, while CART veteran John Dick will work with Abel. This creates an intriguing dynamic of young drivers paired with seasoned engineers.

VeeKay's first official appearance with Dale Coyne Racing will be at the upcoming two-day Sebring test, preceding the season opener at St. Petersburg later this month.
