A Volkswagen ID.1, an affordable electric car priced under £20,000, is set to debut in 2027. This entry-level model will be the smallest in VW's ID lineup, effectively replacing the e-Up electric city car.

Thomas Shäfer, CEO of Volkswagen Passenger Cars, describes it as "an affordable, high-quality, profitable electric Volkswagen from Europe for Europe."
