Zhou will share reserve driver duties with Antonio Giovinazzi, who continues his role while also competing in the World Endurance Championship with Ferrari's 499P program.

During his Formula 1 career, Zhou accumulated 16 points across 68 grand prix starts. His final points finish came at the 2024 Qatar Grand Prix, where he secured eighth place - Stake's only points that season.

Zhou joins several other former 2024 F1 drivers in securing reserve roles:

  • Valtteri Bottas has returned to Mercedes as reserve driver
  • Franco Colapinto has joined Alpine's reserve team
  • Kevin Magnussen is expected to take a reserve position at Haas while racing for BMW in IMSA and WEC
  • Sergio Perez is yet to announce his future plans

This appointment marks Zhou's return to Ferrari after his initial stint with their driver development program, bringing his F1 experience to support the team's 2025 campaign.
