
9 Non-Charter Drivers Battle for Coveted Daytona 500 Starting Positions
Nine drivers will compete for the remaining spots in the 2024 Daytona 500, with 45 teams vying for positions in NASCAR's premier event.

- Anthony Alfredo (No. 62 Chevrolet, Beard Motorsports)
- Chandler Smith (No. 66 Ford Mustang, Garage 66)
- B.J. McLeod (No. 78 Chevrolet, Live Fast Motorsports)
- Jimmie Johnson (No. 84 Toyota, Legacy Motor Club)
Notable storylines include Tricon Garage's potential Cup Series debut with Martin Truex Jr., who reunites with championship-winning crew chief Cole Pearn. JR Motorsports also seeks its first Cup Series race appearance with Justin Allgaier.
