Taking a stellar start to his Formula E career, Taylor Barnard believes his first win is imminent after an impressive weekend in Jeddah that included a third-place finish, pole position, and second-place result.

The 20-year-old NEOM McLaren rookie, who stepped up to a full-time seat after three races as Sam Bird's replacement last season, has secured three podiums in four starts and currently sits second in the championship standings.

"I think I'm just collecting all of the colors at the moment," Barnard said about his podium finishes. "When the car can do it, I'll definitely do my best. The focus for myself at the moment is just to keep scoring these big points."

Barnard's performance matches championship leader Oliver Rowland's podium count this season, with both drivers achieving similar results despite different race strategies.

The Jeddah weekend presented unique challenges, particularly in Saturday's race which required 10% more energy saving without Pit Boost. Despite starting from pole, Barnard managed his energy effectively to secure second place.

"I knew to keep the lead for the whole race was going to be almost impossible," Barnard explained. "At some point I had to drop back and try and recover the energy compared to everyone else. Starting from pole and finishing second, I'm super happy."
