The race concluded under caution following a multicar wreck in Turn 4, initially with Kligerman in the lead. However, the technical infraction gave Heim his first Daytona victory and the 12th of his career.

"Nothing short of crazy there the last 20 laps," said Heim, who showed sympathy for Kligerman's disqualification while appreciating his fortunate circumstance.

Rookie Giovanni Ruggiero impressed with a second-place finish in his Truck Series debut, leading 11 laps in his first superspeedway race. Reigning series champion Ty Majeski finished third, followed by Grant Enfinger in fourth despite sustaining rear damage and a pit road penalty.

Chandler Smith dominated with a race-high 38 laps led but finished sixth behind Justin Haley. Pole winner Ben Rhodes led 22 laps before being collected in a lap 83 incident, ultimately finishing 20th.

Notable performances included actor Frankie Muniz achieving a career-best 10th-place finish in his fifth Truck Series start, while NASCAR Cup Series driver Michael McDowell finished 26th in his first Truck appearance since 2009.
