Dakar Rally: Brabec Claims First Stage Win, De Mevius Dominates Car Class
Monster Energy Honda rider Ricky Brabec secured his first stage win of the 2024 Dakar Rally as the event resumed after its rest day. The American topped Stage 6 by 23 seconds over teammate Adrien van Beveren, moving him to fourth overall. Daniel Sanders maintains the overall lead with an 11m46s advantage.
Brabec encountered Ross Branch who had crashed during the stage, but medical assistance was already on scene. The stage featured varied terrain and challenging navigation through local spectator traffic in the dunes.

In the Ultimate class, Guillaume de Mevius claimed his maiden stage victory in the X-raid Mini, finishing 1m34s ahead of teammate João Ferreira. The win marked the first triumph for the revamped Mini program and ended Toyota's winning streak.
Nasser Al Attiyah finished third, 2m01s behind, gaining time but remaining fourth overall at 30 minutes back. Toyota Gazoo Racing's Hank Lategan maintains the overall lead, 7m16s ahead of Yazeed Al Rajhi and 22m27s ahead of Mattias Ekstrom's Ford Raptor.
In SSV, American Brock Heger maintained his overall lead with a third-place stage finish. Xavier de Soultrait continues his recovery after losing an hour to mechanical issues on Stage 4, now sitting 1h07m behind Heger.
The Challenger class saw American Corbin Leaverton take another second-place stage finish. Nicholas Cavigliasso leads the class overall by 35 minutes over Leaverton's teammate Gonçalo Guerreiro.
