Extreme H, the pioneering hydrogen-powered motorsport series, has secured FIA World Cup status through a non-binding agreement with the global motorsport governing body. Set to launch in 2025, it will succeed the battery-electric Extreme E series that operated from 2021-2024.

Series founder and CEO Alejandro Agag emphasized the significance of this recognition, noting it validates hydrogen's potential in motorsport while adhering to global standards. The competition will maintain Extreme E's commitment to gender equality, requiring teams to field both male and female drivers.

The FIA Extreme H World Cup aims to drive investment in hydrogen infrastructure and advance sustainable mobility solutions. FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem highlighted the organization's dedication to sustainability and equality, positioning hydrogen fuel as a crucial element in motorsport's future.

The series will feature the Pioneer 25, a specially developed vehicle by French manufacturer Spark. Building on the Extreme E Odyssey 21's legacy, the Pioneer 25 has undergone extensive testing throughout 2024. Production is underway, with 10 vehicles expected to be ready for the inaugural season.

This innovative championship represents a significant step forward in sustainable motorsport, combining environmental consciousness with competitive racing while maintaining the social values established by its predecessor.
